Love letters
I was just reading this week’s Postsecrets. This one struck a chord with me because of how saddening it was to read.  Love letters are overlooked in this day and age, but there is nothing greater and more heartfelt than writing/receiving one. I have had the pleasure of writing and receiving more than a few from my past love. They are something I do not regret, and I hold dear to my heart....

Legos
German ad agency Jung von Matt created this brilliant series of photographs for a LEGO advertising campaign titled “Imagine”. The images show famous characters from children’s television shows in simplified LEGO form. Can you figure out each of the shows?

Vintage advertisements
These vintage ads are shocking. One of the advertisements actually states, “Men are better than women”(!) Can you believe these are from just a few decades ago? Our grandparents might have considered them normal! *Blog post credit: Cup of Jo

Ribbon
Bakers, meet Ribbon. Now you can bake in any shape - this design by Quirky uses a silicone band that attaches to the steel baking sheet with magnets. You can then shape the baking area to fit the needs of your recipe and create different shaped molds for your cakes, brownies, etc.

Nothing good gets away
Back in 1958, John Steinbeck, author of East of Eden, The Grapes of Wrath, and Of Mice and Men, got a letter from his teenage son Thom, in which Thom confessed that he had fallen desperately in love with a girl named Susan at his boarding school. Steinbeck wrote this wise and wonderful letter back to him the same day… New York November 10, 1958 Dear Thom: We had your letter this...

Good & lovely will send you a box around the time of your cycle and each month it is filled with little pick-me-ups. This month the box included tea samples, a spa shower tablet, chocolate treats, hand/body lotion, foot cream,...

Are you too busy?
I religiously check my favorite blog, Cup of Jo, and today she posted some really great advice she found in an article: Change your language. Instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don’t want to. But other...
