Hit the ground running this week - or, in my case, hit the ground and bike 12 miles after work. It is important to remember to get outside, be active, and do something you love!

The pictures above are from Sawyer Trial, something I had on my April bucket list.

Today I went out Mountain Biking (MTB) and used my GoPro for the first time. Here are a few still shots I captured:

What have you done for yourself lately?

It is important to do things just for you. Too often we are doing things for the people around us - either at work, at home, with our friends, significant others, etc.

Recently, I had some portraits taken of myself, just because I wanted to. It will be nice to have some quality pictures around, and to reflect and reminisce on when I am older, grey-haired and wrinkly.

Last week my blog was left neglected as I was out on vacation. To make up for my lack in posts, I will share some photos and highlights from my trip.

I pet a Koala at the Sydney Wildlife Center! The Sydney aquarium is next door and they have some amazing exhibits. My favorite were the upside jellyfish!

I also took a 1.5 hour tour inside a Jenolan Cave! Despite the cold I could have stayed inside much longer - the rock and formations are simply fascinating.

Above is the typical image taken when in Blue Mountains (a 2 hour drive outside of Sydney). The three rocks you see are called the “Three Sisters”

It is mid-winter in Australia, but I was fortunate enough to see blue sky all week! Look at how stunning Harbour Bridge is.

Australia has quite a few tasty beers, but I was particularly fond of the Victoria Bitter.

Did I mention I love seafood? Visiting Sydney’s Fish Market is a must for any seafood lover - expect to pay hefty prices though!

My love and I have photo shoots.

My love and I cuddle on my bed and gaze intensely at one another.

My love and I go on long walks.

Just went through some old photos of mine. Can’t wait to embark on another adventure and take more - especially with a nicer camera and some photography classes under my belt!

This past weekend I took my annual trip to Hawaii to visit my dear Nana who has recently turned 99 years old! Here are a few images from my trip:

I asked my Nana what her secret was to living a healthy, strong and long life. I figured the best advice would come from a 99 year old woman who still lives on her own and is completely sane. Her response: Never miss papaya.

For us doomed mainland residents who don’t have access to fresh, ripe papaya, what have you been told the key to a long life is?

Michael Mape’s photo collages make me think one thing: my god that guy has patience!

He uses pins, vials, and gel caps to piece together various photos of a subject to form a final piece.

Added to my destination hit list. If I were to stroll through this garden my problems would melt away. How can one worry or feel badly surrounded by such beauty?

Aren’t these neat photographs? You can view more here.

But don’t camouflage and sink into your wallpaper and sheets this weekend - get out there! Have fun! Breath fresh air ( I hear it’s good for you) and go for a walk (I also hear this has its benefits).

Food has really become an art. What piece of artwork would you like to see on a sandwich? I think Monet or Van Gogh would take some serious mastery in the kitchen.

My postings here have slowed down and you may be wondering why - well, it is because I was in New Orleans for a trade show! I represented Zenfolio at Imaging USA, a popular photography convention held annually.

Walter Mason of Berlin, Germany shot these beautiful photographs of land art he created. Land art is abstract artwork created using natural materials found outdoors. You can find more of Mason’s artwork here.

A beautiful photography project put together and photographed by Lauren Marek. She shoots macro images of one person and fits them into a 3x3 grid. You can view more here.
